Every thought you have about your weight and health has made you the way you are today. Your career, your relationships, your health…are all a direct result of your past thinking. If you look in the mirror and think “I’m fat,” then you are sending this message directly to your subconscious and thus you will be fat. If you are constantly thinking, “I need to lose weight,” then you will constantly be in the state of needing to lose more weight.

Affirmations can help you jump-start your weight-loss goals. Affirmations are your own words or phrases of encouragement to yourself. You can use these anytime you feel low energy, negativity, the urge to overeat, or skip your workout etc.

Your affirmations or mantras must be in the present tense. Instead of saying “I will lose weight and be fit in one month,” say “I am losing more weight every day.” Always say your mantras as if they are in the present, not in the future or you will be constantly trying to get thin rather than just be thin.

Here are some positive affirmations you can give yourself during your weight loss journey. Repeat them every day.

“I am thin, healthy and beautiful.”

“I am beautiful exactly as I am.”

“I am thin and fit.”

“I am healthy and in shape.”

“I look and feel lighter everyday.”

“I enjoy being healthy.”

“I love the food that makes me thin.”

“My body is getting stronger, slimmer, and healthier every day.”

“My clothes fit perfectly on my thin new body.”

“I love my body.”

“It is easy to be healthy.”

Repeat your affirmations throughout the day. Even if it seems untrue at the time, keep repeating them. Be patient. Work on your mind. Your body will follow.

The secret of Successful People:

Do you know what the secret to every success is? Positive Thinking and Visualization. It is true that “If you can dream it, you can do it.” Ask any successful businessperson, actor or millionaire. They will tell you that this is the key to all their success.

The law of attraction is constantly in action. Whatever you think about you bring about. As long as you think you’re fat you will be fat. Think thin! Visualize yourself as the person you want to be and act as if you are that person. Write it out. Sing it. Photoshop your face on the body of a super model if you have to. But don’t stick it in a drawer. Look at it everyday. Hold that image in your mind. Your mind will tell your body to make it a reality!

Autosuggestion is a technique of mind training generated from each individual, which allows the subconscious mind to be accepting towards positive thoughts and goals, and from there utilize its dormant powress in achieving those goals. Sounds difficult? With the following techniques, you will be well on your way to training the subconscious mind with autosuggestion too.

Autosuggestion is based on the theory of repetition. The continual repetition of optimistic thoughts is used for planning goals, and creates a direct link between the conscious and subconscious mind, giving the subconscious mind the change to influence the conscious mind. Through this repetition process of positive affirmations, the subconscious mind can then seek out the most suitable way to attain the goal, since it is unable to reason or logic. This is where its power lies.

The main purpose of training the subconscious mind with autosuggestion is because the conscious mind is susceptible to both positive and negative thoughts. Without constantly activating the subconscious mind to think about positive thoughts, you risk allowing negative thoughts to infiltrate into the subconscious which will work towards ensuring that it is real.

Below are some simple techniques you can start using today.

1. Repeating Affirmations

This can be done in your mind or spoken aloud, but it is essential to proclaim the positive affirmations everyday. This can be accomplished every morning or just before you sleep, as it allows the subconscious to continue working on it even whilst you are sleeping.

2. Writing down your Affirmations

By writing down your affirmations, it reinforces your mind to focus on it. By imprinting the importance of these affirmations in your subconscious, you are allowing it to be accepted and acted upon. It is also useful to have a list in prominent areas such as your work space so that you are constantly reminded of positive thoughts.

3. Listening to a self-recorded tape

Over time, you will realize that it is more than enough to listen to your voice repeating the affirmations. It will then be less important to always think of your positive affirmations.

4. Someone you Admire

Pick out traits that you admire, or even an individual whom you wish to emulate. Identify what characteristics you want to have, and add them in your positive affirmations. This will give you a concrete goal to work towards.

The subconscious mind is an amazing tool that can work both ways if not properly trained. Once you decide on a path of action, the subconscious mind will bring you through it to achieve your end goal, manifested by the communication between the conscious and the subconscious mind.
